100% Silk Scarf dip dyed naturally with Madder.

Madder (Rubia tinctoria) root is one of the oldest natural dyes and has been used for many centuries in Turkey, Iran and India. The deep rich madder colour, Turkey red, was a closely guarded secret in that region for centuries. Madder extract can produce a wide range of colours, from a vibrant red, to peachy pinks and burnt oranges.

Natural dyeing is a much more sustainable alternative than conventional synthetic dyeing, helping keep our waters free from nasty chemicals!
